The monsoon rains have created a devastating situation. Heavy rainfall is causing significant problems in the mountains. A village in Uttarakhand’s Dharali was destroyed by a flood, highlighting the severity of the impact. Himachal Pradesh is also being severely affected by the rains, with many plain areas facing challenging circumstances. Delhi-NCR, including the capital, experienced substantial rainfall in the previous 24 hours.

The Delhi NCR region is currently enjoying favorable weather, characterized by light showers and cool breezes. This weather pattern is likely to continue. Rain is expected to persist in Delhi NCR until August 11th. Thunderstorms, accompanied by fluctuating levels of rain, are anticipated during this period.

Uttar Pradesh is preparing for potentially heavy rainfall starting today. The weather department has issued warnings for significant rainfall across many parts of the state. A red alert has been issued for exceptionally heavy rainfall in Moradabad, Bijnor, Rampur, Bareilly, Pilibhit, Shahjahanpur, and surrounding regions. Light rainfall is predicted in some locations within eastern UP.

Heavy rainfall is anticipated in numerous districts in Uttarakhand, including Rudrapur, Udham Singh Nagar, Champawat, Nainital, Pithoragarh, Almora, Bageshwar, Uttarkashi, and Pauri Garhwal. The upcoming 24 hours are considered crucial for Uttarakhand and the Terai region in terms of rainfall. Water levels in rivers and lakes in the mountainous areas may rise, potentially causing problems. Emergency preparedness is strongly advised.

Over the next 24 hours, expect moderate to heavy rainfall in Western UP, Punjab, eastern Haryana, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Kerala, and Lakshadweep. Light rainfall may occur in eastern Rajasthan, Gujarat, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, and Jammu and Kashmir.

Light to moderate rainfall is expected in Northeastern India, West Bengal, Bihar, Eastern Uttar Pradesh, North Central Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, parts of Maharashtra, Interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Konkan, and Goa.
