Vaibhav Suryavanshi is currently in Australia with the Indian Under-19 team, where he participated in the first ODI series and impressed with a century in the opening multi-day match. The focus now shifts to whether he can maintain his form in the upcoming second multi-day match against Australia. The reasons behind this speculation are intriguing.

Concerns about Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s performance in the second multi-day match stem from his past performances in red-ball cricket at the Under-19 level. He has played multi-day matches against England and Australia. Comparing his performance in the first and second matches against these teams reveals a significant difference.

Across 5 multi-day matches, Suryavanshi has accumulated 311 runs, including two centuries, with an average of 38.87. Three of these matches were the first of the series, and the remaining two were the second. In the initial three matches of the series, Vaibhav Suryavanshi scored 288 runs with an average of 57.60, which included his two centuries. However, in the other two matches, played as the second matches in the series, he only managed to score 23 runs, with a disappointing average of 7.66.

In his youth test matches, Suryavanshi has played three matches against Australia’s Under-19 team, with two of those matches being the first in the series, where he performed well. In those two matches against the Australian Under-19 team, he scored 218 runs, averaging 72.66, and including two centuries. However, in the one match that he played as the second match of the series against Australia Under-19, his average was only 3.
