Vida, the EV arm of Hero, has unveiled the VX2 electric scooter, which incorporates a unique dual-battery system. This design allows the scooter to operate on one battery while the other is being charged, enhancing convenience. Both batteries are designed to be easily removed and charged from any standard domestic power outlet.
The VX2 is offered in two models: Go and Plus. The Go variant has a starting price of ₹99,490 (ex-showroom), while the Plus model is priced at ₹1.10 lakh (ex-showroom). The scooter is poised to compete with a range of electric scooters from manufacturers like TVS, Bajaj, Ather, and Ola.
The VX2 Plus is equipped with a 3.4kWh battery pack, which comprises two removable batteries, providing a maximum range of 142 km. The Go variant features a 2.2kWh portable battery, offering a range of 92 km. Charging the scooter to 80 percent from empty takes about six hours using a standard charger. Fast charging capabilities allow the same charge level to be achieved in approximately 60 minutes.
The VX2 features a 6kW PMS motor, enabling the Plus model to accelerate from 0 to 40 km/h in 3.1 seconds, with the Go model reaching the same speed in 4.2 seconds. It comes with 12-inch alloy wheels, telescopic front forks, and mono-shock rear suspension. The VX2 boasts a range of features, including seven color options, underseat storage (33.2 liters in the Go variant, 27.2 liters in the Plus), cloud connectivity with remote immobilization, LED lighting, turn-by-turn navigation, live ride data display, and a 4.3-inch TFT display.
