New Delhi. You may have never heard the name of Samoa Island located in the northeast of Australia, but batsman Darius Visser has given this country a new identity in the world of cricket with his brilliant performance. In fact, during the match against Vanuatu in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Sub Regional East Asia Pacific Qualifier A match, he scored 39 runs in a single over of fast bowler Nalin Nipiko. Visser also hit 6 sixes in this over, which created a new record for most runs in an over in T20 international cricket.

Let us tell you that fast runs are not a new thing in T20 cricket, but the feat of scoring 39 runs in a single over has happened for the first time. This was only the third T20 match of Samoa’s 28-year-old batsman Darius Visser. In the 15th over of Samoa’s batting, Darius hit three consecutive sixes on the first three balls of Nalin Nipiko. The fourth ball was a no ball, due to which he did not get any run, but on the next ball he again hit a brilliant six. After this, the fifth ball was again a no ball, and Visser hit a six on that too. Nipiko’s sixth ball was also a no ball, on which Darius hit another six. In this way, Darius got 36 runs from 6 sixes and an additional three runs from 3 no balls, which created a new international cricket record of 39 runs in 1 over. During his innings, he scored 132 runs in 62 balls with the help of five fours and 14 sixes.

Joined the club of Yuvraj and Pollard

In the history of international T20 cricket, the feat of hitting 6 sixes in 1 over was first achieved by legendary Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh, after which only West Indies’ dashing all-rounder Kieron Pollard and Nepal’s Dipendra Singh Airee were able to achieve this feat. Now the name of Samoa’s Darius Visser has also been added to this list.

    Criticism due to small playground

This record making match is also being trolled a lot on social media, because the playground of this match was very small and people are commenting that this match is going on in a park and if such a match is happening in international cricket, then anyone can become an international cricketer.
