It is being told that an elder of the Meitei community was killed during the violence. In response to this incident, five Kuki militants have been killed in Jiribam district.

Earlier, militants launched a rocket attack on the house of Manipur’s first CM Mairembam Koireng. One person was killed and six others were injured in this. After the attack, commandos were deployed at the former CM’s house. In response, security forces destroyed three bunkers in the neighboring district Churachandpur and aerial patrolling was done with the help of military helicopters. Meanwhile, the Coordination Committee on Manipur Integrity has declared a public emergency, alleging increasing Kuki attacks. Committee spokesperson Khuraijam Athauba said that Kuki aggression has doubled. In the last few days, there have been several incidents of drone bombing in Imphal West.
