In a captivating match during The Hundred tournament 2025, Trent Rockets defeated Manchester Originals by 7 wickets. A defining moment of the game was the stunning catch by Manchester Originals captain Phil Salt. This incredible display of fielding left the batsman and spectators spellbound. The video of this remarkable catch quickly circulated across social media platforms. The remarkable simplicity of Salt’s catch left viewers wondering if he sprinted or casually strolled to secure it.

In the initial innings, Manchester Originals scored 98 runs after losing 8 wickets. Lewis Gregory scored a not-out 33 off 21 balls, including two fours and two sixes. Jos Buttler added 19 runs, and Phil Salt, the captain, also contributed 19 runs. For Trent Rockets, captain David Willey claimed three wickets, with Rehan Ahmed and Sam Cook each taking two wickets. During the chase, Phil Salt took an unbelievable catch off a delivery from Josh Tongue, dismissing Max Holden. Even Max Holden seemed stunned by the catch.

Max Holden was caught off guard by Josh Tongue’s slow ball, which led to a delayed shot. Salt, fielding at mid-off, leaped and caught the ball with one hand. The effortless execution of Salt’s catch made it challenging to determine whether he ran or simply walked towards the ball. The catch received widespread acclaim. Max Holden managed only 7 runs from 11 balls, including one boundary.

Trent Rockets secured the victory, even though Max Holden’s score was low, winning by 7 wickets. Rehan Ahmed shone with an unbeaten 45 runs, including five fours and two sixes. He and Max Holden shared a significant 39-run partnership for the third wicket. Joe Root was out after scoring only four runs, while Tom Banton scored 11 runs. Tom Moores played an unbeaten innings of 22 runs. This marked Trent’s fourth win in five matches this season, while Manchester Originals has only won two of six matches, with four losses.
