    Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai addressed the Virat Sanskrit Vidvat-Sammelan in Raipur on September 7th, focusing on the importance of Sanskrit. He stated that Sanskrit is the soul of Indian culture, giving India a distinct position globally. CM Sai emphasized that Sanskrit serves as the basis for grammar, philosophy, and science, fostering logical thought. He argued that Sanskrit education remains pertinent and practical in the modern era. He mentioned that the language and its literature form the bedrock of our heritage, necessitating their preservation and enrichment. He also recognized the conference as an effort to strengthen Indian culture, values, and the nation through the study of Sanskrit. He praised the efforts of Sanskrit Bharati Chhattisgarh and Sarayupareen Brahmin Sabha Chhattisgarh in supporting and promoting the language. Furthermore, the CM stated that incorporating Sanskrit into modern education would ensure the intellectual progress of students. He referred to the vast body of knowledge in the Vedas, Upanishads, and Puranas, which convey lessons on philosophy, science, and life values. He pointed out the ongoing relevance of Vedic sciences like Ayurveda, mathematics, and astrology. He added that the principles of Karma, knowledge, and devotion outlined in these texts can provide peace and balance in modern life. Therefore, Sanskrit education is as significant today as it ever was. CM Sai highlighted the necessity of encouraging young people to engage with Sanskrit literature to ensure that they can transmit this knowledge to the coming generations. He stated that technology can be employed to make Sanskrit education engaging and accessible. He urged the state’s Sanskrit scholars and teachers to actively participate in this initiative. He called for a resolution to promote Sanskrit education and engage the next generation through the conference. The release of a brochure by the Sarayupareen Brahmin Sabha Chhattisgarh was also part of the event. Dr. Dadu Bhai Tripathi, the state president of Sanskrit Bharati, presented evidence showing that Sanskrit once served as a common language. He highlighted the direct relationship between the Chhattisgarhi language and Sanskrit. Additionally, he mentioned that the Sarguja region is home to the largest number of tribal students studying Sanskrit.
