Volkswagen is set to refresh its Taigun SUV with a mid-life update, as revealed by reports and test observations. This will be the first major revision since the Taigun’s launch in September 2021, with a release anticipated in 2026. The facelift will bring both design and cosmetic changes. The refreshed Taigun is poised to compete with SUVs such as the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, and Kia Seltos in the Indian market.

The engine options for the Taigun facelift are expected to remain the same. The 1.0-liter TSI engine will likely be available, coupled with 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmissions. A 1.5-liter turbo petrol engine, delivering 147 hp and 250 Nm of torque, is also expected to be on offer.

The front of the updated Taigun will feature a redesigned grille and an updated LED lighting setup. The facelift is taking design cues from the Taigun R-Line. The rear of the car will likely include new tail lamps and other enhancements.

While the front and rear will see notable updates, the side profile is expected to remain largely consistent with the current model. This includes retaining existing design elements such as body-colored door handles, roof rails, and blacked-out B-pillars.

The interior of the Taigun facelift is inspired by the Tiguan R-Line. The updates may also include the addition of ADAS features, further improving its competitiveness against the Hyundai Creta, MG Astor, Kia Sonet, and other rivals.
