    The arrival of Vyjayanthimala in the 1950s brought a beautiful and talented actress to Bollywood. Known for her acting and dance skills, she won the hearts of many. As we celebrate her 92nd birthday on August 13th, we highlight five of her best films.

    Vyjayanthimala, born in Chennai, began her acting journey at 16 with the Tamil film ‘Vaazhkai.’ Her first Hindi film, ‘Bahar’ (1951), was a success. Following that, she acted in several hit films, with these five being among the best and earning blockbuster status.

    Nagin (1954): Directed by Nandlal Jaswantlal, ‘Nagin’ starred Pradeep Kumar and Vyjayanthimala. The film collected 1.5 crore during its lifetime. The film is available for free viewing on YouTube.

    Naya Daur (1957): Directed and produced by B.R. Chopra, ‘Naya Daur’ featured Dilip Kumar and Vyjayanthimala. The film’s lifetime collection was 2.25 crore and can be viewed for free on YouTube.

    Madhumati (1958): Bimal Roy directed ‘Madhumati,’ starring Dilip Kumar, Vyjayanthimala, and Pran. The film’s lifetime collection was 2 crore, and it is available for free viewing on YouTube.

    Gangaa Jamuna (1961): Directed by Dilip Kumar and Nitin Bose, ‘Gangaa Jamuna’ featured Dilip Kumar and Vyjayanthimala. The film had a lifetime collection of 3.50 crore and is available for free viewing on YouTube.

    Sangam (1964): Raj Kapoor directed and produced ‘Sangam,’ with Vyjayanthimala, Raj Kapoor, and Rajendra Kumar. The film featured a love triangle and popular songs and had a lifetime collection of 4 crore and is available for free viewing on YouTube.
