Diplomatic warmth envelops India’s 77th Republic Day festivities, with France and Iran leading the tributes via their embassies in New Delhi. On X, the French mission extended sincere greetings, reflecting on its 2024 chief guest privilege and welcoming EU leaders’ participation this time around. The focus remains on forging a common path to peace and economic growth.

The Iranian Embassy matched the enthusiasm, offering congratulations to India’s leadership and populace. It reiterated the time-honored friendship between Tehran and New Delhi, voicing readiness to deepen ties for reciprocal gains.

Come January 26, the national capital will host a dazzling parade on Kartavya Path under President Droupadi Murmu’s stewardship. Chief guests Antonio Costa and Ursula von der Leyen from the EU add international prestige to the event.

Already in India, von der Leyen was accorded a warm reception by Minister Jitin Prasada. The visit underscores evolving India-EU dynamics, with buzz around a breakthrough in FTA negotiations. Described by insiders as foundational, the deal could transform bilateral trade.

The External Affairs Ministry’s X post hailed von der Leyen’s state visit, framing it as the blueprint for advancing the strategic partnership. United by democratic ethos and mutual confidence, India and the EU are poised to amplify cooperation across commerce, technology, and geopolitics.
