    Across India, from the plains to the mountains, torrential rainfall is causing significant disruption and flooding in numerous states. The meteorological department has issued alerts for heavy rainfall across multiple regions. Uttarakhand is under a seven-day warning for heavy downpours, while Himachal Pradesh is also expected to receive substantial rainfall. The northern areas near east-central India are expected to experience heavy rainfall between August 13th and 16th.

    In Delhi, the capital city, sunny skies followed two days of rain. However, today’s forecast includes thunderstorms and rain, with similar weather expected on August 12th. Cloudy conditions and moderate rainfall are predicted for August 13th. The rainy conditions in Delhi could persist until August 16th.

    Uttar Pradesh is likely to see heavy rainfall in many districts today. Starting August 12th, most of the state can expect thunderstorms and rain, with some areas at risk of very heavy rainfall. The intensity and extent of the rainfall in UP are likely to increase starting tomorrow. The coming days are expected to bring heavy monsoon rains.

    The weather department has predicted heavy rainfall in 14 districts of Bihar today. The remaining districts may have light showers, but very heavy rainfall is expected across the state on August 12th and 13th. The neighboring state of Jharkhand is also forecast to receive heavy rainfall in the next 24 hours.

    The mountainous states of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh are particularly affected by the heavy rainfall. The meteorological department has warned of heavy rainfall in Uttarakhand for the next seven days. Residents are advised to be cautious of hazardous, slippery areas. An alert has been issued for Himachal Pradesh, with heavy rainfall expected in several areas over the next four days.

    The northeastern states are also preparing for heavy rainfall. Arunachal Pradesh is expected to experience light to moderate rainfall from today until August 13th, 2025. Rainfall is also predicted in Mizoram, Manipur, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, and Tripura between today and August 14th. Heavy rainfall is expected in Arunachal Pradesh on August 12th, while Assam and Meghalaya could experience heavy rainfall in various areas on August 12th and 13th.
