Naiduniya Representative, Bhopal. The deep depression formed near Jharkhand has moved forward and is active over north-eastern Madhya Pradesh and the neighbouring Uttar Pradesh. Due to its effect, intermittent rains are continuing in the entire Madhya Pradesh.
Especially in the eastern region of the state, many areas received heavy rainfall during the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday. The highest rainfall of 235.4 mm (more than 9 inches) was recorded in Katni. Let us tell you that in this season, from June 1 to 8:30 am on August 4, 593.1 mm rainfall has occurred in Madhya Pradesh, which is 20 percent more than the normal rainfall (495.2 mm).
639.1 mm rain fell in eastern Madhya Pradesh
In this, eastern Madhya Pradesh has received 639.1 mm rainfall till now, which is 17 percent more than the normal rainfall (544.3 mm). Western MP has received 557.8 mm rainfall till now, which is 22 percent more than the normal rainfall (457.4 mm). On the other hand, in Bhopal, till 5:30 pm on Sunday evening, a total of 1062.7 mm rainfall has been recorded this season, which is 11.3 mm more than the season’s normal rainfall of 1051.4 mm.

According to meteorologists, there is a possibility of very heavy rainfall on Monday at many places in the districts of Sagar, Gwalior, Chambal and Ujjain divisions and at some places in Gwalior and Indore divisions. According to the information received from the Meteorological Center, a deep depression is currently active over north-eastern Madhya Pradesh and adjoining Uttar Pradesh. A low pressure area is also present over south-western Rajasthan.
The monsoon trough from the low pressure area is passing from northern Madhya Pradesh through the deep depression area to the Bay of Bengal via Jharkhand, Daltonganj. An offshore trough is also formed from southern Gujarat to Kerala.
Former senior meteorologist of Meteorological Centre, Ajay Shukla said that due to the effect of deep low pressure area, it is raining in the entire state. On Monday, there is a possibility of very heavy rain at many places in Sagar, Ujjain division districts and some places in Gwalior, Indore division. Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning may continue in the remaining areas as well.

In the last 24 hours till 8.30 am on Sunday, Katni received 235.4 mm rainfall, Rajpura in Panna 211 mm, Garhakota in Sagar 190.8 mm, Ramnagar in Maihar 187.2 mm, Bargi in Jabalpur 186.2 mm, Chandiya in Umaria 182.2 mm, Jaisingh Nagar in Shahdol 175 mm, Devsar in Singrauli 167.2 mm, Tendukheda in Damoh 165.8 mm, Pathari in Vidisha 156 mm, Bichiya in Mandla 155.6 mm, Gurh in Rewa 145 mm, Rampur Naikin in Sidhi received 136.5 mm rainfall.

Apart from this, in the areas with heavy rainfall, Damoh received 134 mm rainfall, Rewa 132.6 mm, Jabalpur 129 mm, Sagar 113.4 mm, Satna 109.1 mm, Sidhi 104.2 mm, Umaria 100.2 mm and Khajuraho 93.6 mm rainfall. Whereas, Gwalior received 44 mm, Naugaon and Pachmarhi 41 mm, Shivpuri 37 mm, Tikamgarh 31 mm, Guna 27 mm, Betul and Raisen 24 mm, Ratlam 23 mm, Satna 21 mm, Bhopal 19 mm, Khandwa and Chhindwara 17 mm, Narmadapuram 16 mm, Ujjain and Damoh 14 mm, Khajuraho and Malajkhand 13 mm, Indore received 9 mm, Dhar received 8 mm, Seoni received 4 mm, Sagar, Rewa and Mandla received 3 mm and Nararsinghpur received 2 mm rainfall.
