The weather patterns are shifting, bringing intense heat after recent heavy rains. Northern India, from plains to mountains, is experiencing this heat. The weather department expects the heat to continue. Hot and humid conditions persist from Delhi to Himachal Pradesh, while central India has different weather, with rain in Maharashtra and Gujarat.
Delhi-NCR saw some relief from the heat on Saturday after a week of high temperatures. The forecast for today is mixed, with cloudy skies and warmth. Temperatures will range from 28 to 35 degrees Celsius, with cooler nights. The weather department doesn’t expect rain for the next four days, so residents of Delhi will need to endure the heat.
In Uttar Pradesh, expect scattered clouds on Sunday, light to moderate rain, and thunderstorms in several districts. Lightning strikes are possible. Light rain is also expected in these areas. Other districts will likely see overcast conditions, and a broader pattern of cloud cover is anticipated starting Monday.
Lucknow’s weather on Sunday is expected to be normal, with a maximum temperature of around 34 degrees Celsius. Rain is likely from September 30, which should make the weather more pleasant. Today, sunshine is predicted for Ayodhya, Rae Bareli, Amethi, Kanpur, and Barabanki, with maximum temperatures around 35 degrees Celsius. Noida is expected to have a maximum temperature of around 35 degrees Celsius, and Ghaziabad will experience similar weather.
Rajasthan’s Monsoon Withdrawal
Monsoon has departed from Rajasthan, completing its exit on September 26. Rain is possible in eastern, south-eastern, and southern Rajasthan from September 28 to October 3. Western Rajasthan is expected to have dry weather for the next 4-5 days.
In Bihar, rain is expected to begin around October 2, with scattered showers possible. Today’s weather will remain dry. Patna, Gaya, Sitamarhi, Muzaffarpur, and other districts are forecast to remain dry. Temperatures are likely to rise by a few degrees. Humidity is expected, but no rain is anticipated.
Himachal Pradesh is also experiencing the heat. Dry weather is expected until October 3, with little change in minimum temperatures. Maximum temperatures may gradually increase in the coming days. Heat is being felt in Kangra, Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Chamba, Shimla, Solan, and Una.
In Uttarakhand, the dry weather in the coming days will bring heat to the plains, with possible cloudy skies and light showers in the hills. Rain is expected in five districts on Sunday, with light rain and thunderstorms predicted in specific areas. The other districts are expected to have dry weather. Dehradun will have a mix of clear to partly cloudy skies, with a maximum temperature of 35 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 22 degrees Celsius.
Maharashtra and Other States
The IMD has issued a red alert for heavy rainfall in Gujarat, central Maharashtra, Goa, and Konkan until September 29. An orange alert is in effect for rain in the Marathwada region. A red alert is in place for Palghar district for September 28 and 29, indicating potential for excessive rainfall. The administration has instructed departments to be vigilant. Mumbai has a red alert for rain, with heavy rainfall predicted for Sunday. The BMC has advised residents to avoid unnecessary travel on Sunday, September 28, and heavy rain is expected in many areas on September 29.
