The monsoon, which arrived ahead of schedule, initially brought heavy rainfall across several states. However, the heavy downpours have now subsided. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) is forecasting a return to more typical weather patterns across the country. Delhi-NCR and numerous other states are now enduring a severe heatwave.

In Delhi, the sweltering heat follows recent rainfall. The weather department anticipates no rain in the coming days. Today, the capital city is expected to experience clear weather, with a maximum temperature of 40 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 26 degrees Celsius. From June 14th onward, the temperature is likely to remain above 40 degrees Celsius, meaning Delhi residents should prepare for the heat for the next five days.

Uttar Pradesh is also grappling with extreme heat. The state is currently seeing intense sunshine during the day, leading to high temperatures. According to the weather department, there is no expectation of rain in the state until June 11th. Heatwave conditions are possible in Bundelkhand, Vindhya, and adjacent areas from June 9th to 11th. Starting June 11th, easterly winds may become active in eastern Uttar Pradesh, potentially initiating rainfall.

Most districts in Bihar will experience dry weather today. Patna, the state capital, is forecast to have a maximum temperature of 37 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 27 degrees Celsius. The weather department has issued a warning for a return of rain starting June 10th. Humid conditions may persist in the state until then, with the maximum and minimum temperatures potentially increasing by up to four degrees. In the evening, light rain and thunderstorms are possible in Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand, and several other districts.

Heatwave conditions are anticipated in western Rajasthan from June 8-11, in Punjab and Haryana from June 9-11, and in northern Madhya Pradesh on June 9 and 10. Heavy rainfall is expected in South India and the northeastern states from June 10th. Light to moderate rain is possible in most areas of Northeast India over the next seven days.

Intense heat is expected in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh. The hilly regions of Uttarakhand are experiencing strong sunshine, resulting in a feeling of warmth. However, the weather is expected to change rapidly in the mountains. Many parts of Himachal Pradesh could see rain on June 12-13.
