The Meteorological Department has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall for the northwestern districts of Jharkhand, including Palamu, Garhwa, Latehar, and Chatra, on August 23. An orange alert has been issued due to the expected weather conditions. The department predicts good rainfall across various regions of the state for the next five days. The public has been advised to be cautious. People residing in low-lying areas are urged to take extra precautions. Meteorologist Abhishek Anand noted that heavy rainfall may be accompanied by strong winds (30-40 kmph) and lightning. The possibility of water accumulation in low-lying regions also exists, potentially impacting vulnerable structures. The recent rain has affected daily life in Ranchi and other parts of the state. Saraikela Kharsawan experienced the highest rainfall in the state in the last 24 hours, measuring 67.2 millimeters. Ranchi recorded 12.2 millimeters of rain during this period. On Friday, the maximum temperature in Ranchi was 29.8 degrees Celsius, Jamshedpur 30.8 degrees, Daltonganj 33.6 degrees, Bokaro 32.1 degrees, and Chaibasa 32.8 degrees.
