Persistent heavy rainfall is causing significant problems in several states, leading to severe waterlogging and traffic issues. Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Kerala, Karnataka, Assam, and Mizoram were all hit with torrential rain on Wednesday. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has urged residents to stay updated on the weather, warning of ongoing heavy showers in multiple states until August 30.

Isolated heavy rainfall is expected in Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Vidarbha, Madhya Pradesh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, and Sikkim through August 30. Heavy monsoon rains are also forecast for Bihar and Jharkhand on August 29th and 30th. Daily life in Himachal Pradesh has been disrupted by landslides and flash floods, with tragic loss of life. The IMD has issued a yellow alert for rain in parts of Himachal Pradesh, specifically in Solan and Simaur.

Torrential rains are expected to continue in Uttarakhand, East Rajasthan, and Haryana for the next seven days. Other regions likely to experience rain include Jammu & Kashmir and Punjab from August 30 to September 1; West Rajasthan from August 29-31; and Uttar Pradesh on September 1 and 2. Northwest India is also likely to see light to moderate rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning. Jammu-Kashmir, Ladakh, and West Rajasthan will experience showers today, while Uttarakhand will receive rain for the next week.

Arunachal Pradesh is expected to experience isolated heavy rainfall from August 28th to August 30th. Rain is also predicted for Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura during the next seven days.
