A wedding celebration in a village near Ranchi, Jharkhand, was marred by a horrific incident involving the rape of a five-year-old girl. The alleged attacker, identified as Karmadev Urav, lured the child to a garden with the promise of mangoes.
The victim’s family was alerted to the crime when the girl returned home, visibly traumatized and injured. She received initial medical care at Chanho CSC and was later transferred to RIMS hospital in Ranchi.
Enraged by the crime, people at the wedding assaulted the suspect. Police arrived and took the accused into custody, initiating an investigation and filing a case against him.
