By Press Trust of India: Canadian police have named two of the eight individuals, together with 4 Indians, whose our bodies have been present in a marshland space alongside the US-Canada border, amid an investigation into the circumstances of their deaths.

Police say the deceased — believed to be two households of Indian and Romanian descent — have been making an attempt to cross into the US from Canada. Among them have been two youngsters below the age of three, each Canadian residents.

On Saturday, police mentioned that 4 Indian nationals, who they believed have been a household making an attempt to cross into the US, haven’t been recognized.

Citing a supply with the police in India, the CBC News reported that a minimum of three of them are relations from Gujarat.

The supply mentioned the relations embrace a person in his 50s and a girl and man of their 20s. The age and gender of the fourth Indian nationwide is unknown presently, the report mentioned.

“One woman — Florin’s wife and the children’s mother — has also been identified as 28-year-old Cristina (Monalisa) Zenaida Iordache,” the report mentioned, quoting the Akwesasne Mohawk Police Service assertion.

Grand Chief Abram Benedict mentioned the division is dedicated to understanding how this tragedy occurred and “how we can work with our police department and partners to prevent it from ever happening again.” Valene Gray, the proprietor of the Three Feathers Cafe, mentioned the group has been shaken by the tragedy.

“In the past couple of days, it’s been very heavy, very emotional, customers coming in and they’re sad. You could tell they were upset, you could tell they were hurting,” Gray mentioned on Saturday.

Wanting to supply help to her group, Gray mentioned it was an honour to be employed by the Mohawk council to verify all the volunteer searchers have been fed.

She mentioned the cafe has supplied breakfast sandwiches for the previous two days and supper on Friday.

Akwesasne police say there have been 48 incidents of individuals making an attempt to cross illegally into Canada or into the United States via the Mohawk territory since January, and most of them have been of Indian or Romanian descent.
