80,000 Visas Canceled by Trump Administration Amid Immigration Crackdown

The Trump administration has significantly ramped up its immigration enforcement, revoking around 80,000 non-immigrant visas since January 20. This decisive action targets individuals who have violated U.S. laws, including those convicted of crimes such as driving under the influence, assault, and theft, as well as those found in breach of immigration regulations or foreign policy guidelines. Driving under the influence alone was cited in approximately 16,000 revocations, with assault and theft accounting for 12,000 and 8,000 respectively, highlighting the administration’s focus on serious offenses. In addition to revoking existing visas, the U.S. government has also implemented enhanced vetting procedures for new applicants, featuring expanded social media reviews and more rigorous background checks, demonstrating a firm commitment to border security and legal immigration.
