Bangladesh Interim Government Head Claims PM Modi Rejected Request to Stop Hasina’s Speeches

Muhammad Yunus, the former head of Bangladesh’s interim government, disclosed that he sought Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s assistance in preventing former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina from making public addresses to Bangladeshi citizens and her supporters from India. Yunus shared this information during a discussion at Chatham House, the Royal Institute of International Affairs in London. According to Yunus, he conveyed his concerns directly to PM Modi, asking for help in stopping the speeches, which were reportedly causing resentment among the Bangladeshi population. He noted that the situation was leading to anger directed towards India. He further stated that when he inquired about the outcome of his request, the response was that India couldn’t control the speeches due to social media.
