Bodies of Marines killed in NATO train returned to US
The our bodies of 4 Marines who died in a navy plane crash throughout a NATO train had been transferred again to the US Friday.
The US Marine Corps stated an Osprey plane crashed on March 18 in a Norwegian city within the Arctic Circle, killing the 4 Marines. Officials with the Marines stated Saturday that a whole bunch of US Marines, sailors, service members and civilians rendered last salutes to the fallen Marines in Bodø, Norway, early Friday.
The our bodies of the Marines had been then positioned on board an Air National Guard navy transport plane and flown to Dover Air Force Base in Delaware, Marine Corps officers stated. The stays of the Marines will finally be moved to their last resting locations in keeping with their households’ needs, officers stated in an announcement.
The crash killed Capt. Ross A. Reynolds, 27, of Leominster, Massachusetts; Capt. Matthew J. Tomkiewicz, 27, of Fort Wayne, Indiana; Gunnery Sgt. James W. Speedy, 30, of Cambridge, Ohio; and Cpl. Jacob M. Moore, 24, of Catlettsburg, Kentucky.
The males had been all assigned to Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 261, Marine Aircraft Group 26, 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing stationed at Marine Corps Air Station New River, North Carolina. They had been collaborating in a long-planned NATO train known as Cold Response, which authorities stated was unrelated to Russia’s conflict in Ukraine.
