Canada shared intelligence on terrorist’s killing with India weeks in the past: Trudeau

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Friday mentioned that Canada shared the “credible allegations” that India’s authorities could have been concerned within the killing of a Khalistani terrorist “weeks ago”, Global News reported.
“Canada has shared the credible allegations — that I talked about on Monday — with India. We did that many weeks ago. We are there to work constructively with India and we hope that they engage with us so we can get to the bottom of this very serious manner,” mentioned Trudeau.
India has repeatedly denied claims of receiving any intel concerning the allegations from Canada earlier than Trudeau’s announcement on Monday revealing them.
TRUDEAU’S CHARGE AGAINST INDIA
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, on Monday within the Canadian Parliament, alleged there was a “potential link” between Indian authorities brokers and the killing of Hardeep Singh Nijjar, the chief of the banned Khalistan Tiger Force (KTF), who was killed in Surrey in June.
The Canadian authorities additionally expelled a prime Indian diplomat quickly after Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s allegations.
India has refuted Trudeau’s statements made within the Canadian Parliament, deeming the “allegations of the Government of India’s involvement in any act of violence in Canada” as each absurd and motivated.
“We have seen and reject the statement of the Canadian Prime Minister in their Parliament, as also the statement by their Foreign Minister. Allegations of Government of India’s involvement in any act of violence in Canada are absurd and motivated,” a press release issued by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said.
Nijjar was amongst India’s most-wanted terrorists, carrying a reward of Rs 10 lakh on his head. He was fatally shot by two unidentified assailants outdoors a gurdwara in Surrey, a province of British Columbia in Canada, on June 18.
