Canal companies agency Leth mentioned {that a} cargo vessel had run aground within the Suez Canal. However, it was unclear to what extent canal visitors was affected.

By Associated Press: A cargo vessel ran aground in Egypt’s Suez Canal on Monday, a canal companies agency mentioned.

Leth Agencies mentioned the vessel, MV Glory, ran aground close to the town of Qantara, within the Suez Canal province of Ismailia. The agency mentioned canal tugs have been attempting to refloat the vessel.

Satellite monitoring information analyzed by The Associated Press confirmed the Glory in a single-lane stretch of the Suez Canal simply south of Port Said on the Mediterranean Sea.

A spokesperson for the Canal Authority declined to remark, saying a press release can be launched.

It was not instantly clear what brought about the vessel to run aground. Parts of Egypt together with its northern provinces skilled a wave of unhealthy climate Sunday.

The Joint Coordination Center listed the Glory as carrying over 65,000 metric tons of corn from Ukraine sure for China.
