Spellbound by her newfound ape abode, Vanilla, a 29-year-old chimpanzee skilled a heartwarming second when she laid eyes on the open sky for the primary time.
She is a survivor of New York’s Laboratory for Experimental Medicine and Surgery in Primates (LEMSIP).
Captured in a touching video, Vanilla’s awe-inspiring response occurred upon her arrival on the Save the Chimps sanctuary in Fort Pierce, Florida, marking her liberation from a lifetime confined inside a 5-foot-square cage or a garage-sized enclosure.
