China touts advantages of its ‘Belt and Road’ initiative to Italy

China’s international minister is looking for to promote his Italian counterpart on the advantages of chief Xi Jinping’s signature “Belt and Road” initiative of Chinese-built and -funded infrastructure initiatives, as Rome considers whether or not to resume the settlement.

In a Monday assembly, Wang Yi advised Antonio Tajani that bilateral commerce had grown from $50 billion to just about $80 billion and that Italy’s exports to China elevated by round 30% over the previous 5 years.
