Guan Jing, a Chinese mountaineer, lost his life on K2 during his descent from the summit. He had reached the summit on Monday. Unfortunately, on Tuesday, he was struck by falling rocks, leading to his death. K2, the second-highest peak globally, is part of the Karakoram range in Pakistan. Its elevation is 8,611 meters (28,251 feet). The mountain is notorious for its dangerous climbing conditions, which include steep slopes, sudden weather changes, and the frequent occurrence of rockfalls. This event follows the recent death of German mountaineer Laura Dahlmeier. She passed away while climbing a different mountain in the region a couple of weeks before this incident.
