Cottrell stated the proposals won’t be “what everyone wants,” however additional adjustments would require a legislative overhaul and there was presently no majority supporting such change.

Jayne Ozanne, a distinguished campaigner for LGBTQ individuals within the church, stated the bishops’ choice was “utterly despicable.”
