Cloudburst triggers flood in Islamabad, military deployed in Rawalpindi

Islamabad’s Deputy Commissioner Muhammed Hamza Shafqaat attributed the flash flood to a cloudburst and urged the general public to “cooperate and restrict unnecessary movements”, in accordance with a report by GEO TV. He mentioned an operation is underway to clear the roads.Muhammed Hamza Shafqaat mentioned, “A cloudburst in the federal capital has caused flooding in several areas. Many teams are clearing nullahs/roads. Hopefully we will be able to clear everything in an hour.”The deputy commissioner mentioned the spillways of Rawal Dam had been being opened as he appealed to the general public to steer clear of the riverbanks of the Korang and Soan rivers.As the heavy rains wreaked havoc and flooding within the space, the Capital Development Authority of Islamabad mentioned all groups had been working to filter the extreme water.”The CDA teams are working to clear the roads. All the teams are in field to clear excessive water. Machinery is working on maximum locations for clearance.
