By India Today World Desk: A case filed in opposition to Delta Air Lines in Brooklyn Federal lawsuit claimed {that a} passenger onboard consumed not less than ten vodka drinks and a glass of wine and harassed a 16-year-old woman and her mom midair, reported the New York Times.

According to the complainant, flight attendants “blatantly ignored” the abuse hurled by the person and deserted the mother-daughter duo at his mercy.

“What occurred to them throughout a flight was not only a nightmare, it was utterly preventable,” the family’s lawyer, Evan Brustein, was quoted as saying by the NYT.

The complainant also alleged that during the nine-hour-long journey, the flight attendants did not stop serving alcohol to the abuser. The attendants — instead of taking stern action — purportedly urged the woman to be patient.

According to the complaint, the staff also refused to relocate the duo and just urged the abuser to avoid engaging with them.

The teen felt “the intoxicated Delta passenger’s clammy fingers beneath her shirt climbing up her again â€æfingering her bra strap and transferring over her physique,” according to the 2 million US dollar lawsuit.

Meanwhile, the man’s identity remains unknown, but some media reports claimed he’s a resident of Connecticut in the United States.

After the incident came to the fore, the airline declined to provide any comments regarding the case, but stressed that it “has zero tolerance for customers who engage in inappropriate or unlawful behaviour.”
