Indian expatriates residing in Dubai are advised to take note of the updated passport photo regulations, which go into effect on September 1st. The Indian Consulate in Dubai will only accept photos that comply with the ICAO standards as of August 25th. This adjustment impacts all applicants, whether they are applying for a new passport or renewing an existing one. The new requirements detail precise specifications, including dimensions, framing, lighting, and facial features. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has directed that all global passport applications will require ICAO-compliant photos beginning September 1, 2025. Similar rules are already in effect in Kuwait and are expected to be implemented in Abu Dhabi soon.
