Ex-Army chief Bajwa needed kin of TTP members ‘resettled’ in Pakistan, claims Imran Khan’s aide

By India Today Web Desk: A politician and an in depth aide of former Prime Minister Imran Khan has alleged that the previous Army chief Qamar Javed Bajwa wished to resettle households of the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) within the nation after the Afghan Taliban captured Kabul in August 2021.

Former human rights minister in Khan’s authorities, Shireen Mazari, made these feedback amidst a major rise in terrorist actions all through the nation, with the most recent incident being an assault on the Karachi police chief’s workplace on Friday evening.

The Tehreek-e-Taliban-e-Pakistan, often known as the Pakistani Taliban, is a coalition of various Islamist militant factions working alongside the border between Afghanistan and Pakistan.

“Bajwa at one point brought up the matter (of Taliban)…that there are Pakistani-nationality families in the TTP who want to return to the country…If they accept the Constitution and lay down their arms, something should be done for some sort of resettlement and talks should be held,” she was quoted by information company PTI as saying whereas collaborating within the Dawn News programme ‘Doosra Rukh’.

According to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief, a gathering was convened in response to the proposal for resettlement, which elicited an “instantaneous reaction from the elected PTI members.”

“It was decided that before initiating a dialogue, a committee will be formed between the elected representatives and the military to form a consensus as our elected people have a lot of reservations,” she mentioned.

Mazari said that the PTI had insisted on reaching a consensus after which initiating a dialogue with the TTP. She expressed remorse that after their authorities was ousted, the present authorities didn’t prioritize discussing who to carry a dialogue with.

In response to a query concerning PTI chairman Khan’s name for authorized motion towards Gen Bajwa for violating the Constitution, Mazari famous that the celebration had “all options open to it.”

Khan had approached President Arif Alvi and demanded an inquiry towards former Army chief Gen (retd) Qamar Javed Bajwa for repeatedly violating his oath, which included secretly recording conversations with him throughout his tenure as Prime Minister.

When requested about any threats made by Gen Bajwa in direction of Khan, Mazari replied that it had been rumored that he made a number of threats, and though she had attended many conferences, she was not able to disclose something at current.

She declined to offer additional data, citing the PTI’s concern that “many things are sensitive and confidential for the country,” even when Gen Bajwa didn’t share the identical concern.
