Ex-Pakistan minister ‘violently kidnapped by fascist regime’, says former PM Imran Khan

Ex-Pakistan minister Shireen Mazari has been kidnapped from exterior her home, former PM Imran Khan claimed on Saturday.

Former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan took to Twitter on Saturday to assert that ex-minister Shireen Mazari had been “violently abducted” from exterior her home.

Imran Khan stated the present regime in Pakistan had kidnapped the senior Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief, who was a minister in his authorities which was ousted from energy final month.

“Our senior party leader Shireen Mazari has reportedly been violently abducted from outside her house by this fascist regime. Shireen is strong and fearless, if the imported govt thinks it can coerce her by this fascism, they have miscalculated!” he tweeted.

Announcing a protest, he added, “Our movement is completely peaceful but this fascist imported govt wants to push the country towards chaos. As if sending the economy into tailspin wasn’t enough, they now want anarchy to avoid elections. Today we will protest and tomorrow after CC meeting I’ll announce our Long March.”

Earlier, her daughter Imaan Zainab Mazari-Hazir had tweeted, “Male police officers have beaten and taken my mother away. All I have been told is that Anti Corruption Wing Lahore has taken her.”

Speaking to IndiaToday.in, PTI chief and former Minister for Information and Broadcasting in Pakistan Fawad Chaudhry stated, “Dr Shireen Mazari, leader of PTI and former Minister for Human Rights, has been arrested by police. This is first high profile arrest to stop Long March announced by Imran Khan for elections in Pakistan. Dr Mazari has been a strong advocate of human rights and a staunch critic of ruling elite for decades.”
