From Blockade to Airdrops: Gaza’s Humanitarian Nightmare Continues

Following Israel’s decision to block humanitarian aid into Gaza, the situation deteriorated drastically. The GHF was meant to distribute aid but was dissolved after its security forces, along with Israeli soldiers, fired upon Palestinians. Now, international aid is being airdropped, but the methods are proving deadly. The Gaza government media office stated that the aid drops are making the famine situation worse. Concerns remain that many of the aid packages are landing in areas under Israeli control or in evacuated zones, putting those trying to access aid at risk. In the past, aid packages have fallen into the sea, leading to drownings, and have landed among crowds, rendering them ineffective for those who need them most. Gaza authorities have urged for aid to arrive via ground routes, requesting food, medical supplies, and medications.
