Hindu temple in Pakistan vandalised, set on hearth

A historic Hindu temple in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkwa province was vandalised and set on hearth by an unruly mob of a whole lot on Wednesday following a dispute over the land occupied by it.The Shri Paramhans Ji Maharaj’s Samadhi together with the Krishna Dwara Mandir in Teri village of Karak district was vandalised by the mob that claimed the temple had encroached on further land.District police officer Irfan Marwat stated the mob was protesting the enlargement work of the temple and demolished new building work alongside the outdated construction.The temple was first attacked and demolished in 1997. After intervention by the Supreme Court in 2015, the area people had agreed to its reconstruction. Despite the reconstruction, there was a dispute over the land allotted to the temple. This additionally led to some misunderstanding between the temple supporters and native clerics. Eyewitnesses stated that a whole lot of individuals set hearth to the constructing on Wednesday. They surrounded and vandalised the temple for hours however police didn’t intervene.Local media quoted advocate Rohit Kumar, a consultant of the Hindu group, as saying that the temple didn’t exceed the agreed space and that residents violated the settlement by vandalising the temple.No case has been registered and neither any arrest made up to now within the incident. Pakistan’s federal Parliamentary Secretary for Human Rights Lal Chand Malhi strongly condemned the vandalisation by “some anti-social elements”.Hindus are the largest minority in Pakistan. According to official estimates, 75 lakh Hindus reside in Pakistan. However, based on the group, over 90 lakh Hindus reside within the nation.The majority of Pakistan’s Hindu inhabitants is settled in Sindh province the place they share tradition, traditions and language with Muslim residents.
