Hong Kong media tycoon in courtroom as prosecutors enchantment bail

Hong Kong media tycoon Jimmy Lai appeared in courtroom Thursday as prosecutors requested town’s prime judges to ship him again to detention after he was granted bail final week on fraud and nationwide security-related costs.
If the prosecutors succeed, Lai will likely be detained till his subsequent courtroom look on April 16. Prior to being granted bail, Lai had been held in custody for almost three weeks.

Lai, who was ordered to stay beneath home arrest as a part of his bail situations, left his house on Thursday morning in a black Mercedes. He entered the Court of Final Appeal with out making any feedback to supporters and media, a lot of whom swarmed the tycoon as he made his method into the courtroom.
Other bail situations included surrendering his journey paperwork and a ban on assembly with international officers, publishing articles on any media, posting on social media and giving interviews.
His courtroom look comes after Chinese state-owned newspaper People’s Daily posted a strongly worded commentary on Sunday criticising a Hong Kong courtroom for granting bail to Lai, stating that it “severely hurt Hong Kong’s rule of law”.
The People’s Daily mentioned that it might not be tough for Lai to abscond, and referred to as him “notorious and extremely dangerous”.
