Hungarian PM assaults European Union over sanctions towards Russia

The Prime Minister of Hungary, Viktor Orban, attacked the European Union for damaging Hungary’s economic system by sanctioning Russia.

By India Today Web Desk: Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban launched a blistering assault on the European Union (EU) over the sanctions imposed by the EU on Russia.

Delivering a speech within the western metropolis of Zalaegerszeg, Orban accused Brussels of “shooting” at Hungary within the garb of sanctions.

With Orban’s assault on the EU-member state, fissures within the European Union over motion towards Russia lay naked.

“Let us not worry about those who are shooting at Hungary hidden in the shadows, somewhere from the watchtowers of Brussels,” the Hungarian Prime Minister stated.

Since the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Hungary has fastidiously contoured its relations with Russia because it relies upon considerably on Russian power.

Orban has repeatedly derided sanctions towards Russia as a catastrophe for Hungary’s economic system.

Although Hungary voted along with his fellow EU member states for the sanctions, Orban has commonly protested the harm they’ve performed to the nation’s economic system, AFP reported.
