India on Monday began its two-year tenure as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) with the nation’s Tricolour being put in on the indoor stakeout space throughout a particular ceremony on a wintry afternoon on the United Nations headquarters in New York City on Monday.

Tirumurti framed India’s function as one which brings “human-centric and inclusive solutions to matters of international peace and security”.
