Bilateral trade between India and Malaysia reached new milestones during PM Narendra Modi’s two-day sojourn in Kuala Lumpur. Malaysian MP M. Kulasegaran expressed optimism about India’s role as a pivotal leader in forthcoming economic blocs, projecting it to become one of the world’s wealthiest powers.
The MP traced the enduring trade links to antiquity, with archaeological evidence from 5,000 years past. ‘These aren’t sudden deals; they’ve evolved over time,’ Kulasegaran clarified. Contemporary commerce grapples with tariffs, rivals, and complexities, but the agreements inked address these, minimizing uncertainties and boosting trade volumes.
He commended Modi’s diplomatic triumphs, especially with the EU and US, calling them unparalleled. ‘India’s forward-looking PM is a treasure to nurture,’ Kulasegaran asserted. This approach inspires global peers and opens avenues for joint ventures that will enrich Malaysia.
Defense trade highlights India’s evolution from domestic supplier to global contender in the last couple of decades. Exhibiting Sukhoi planes at Malaysian fairs underscores its readiness. ‘Cost-effectiveness and tech superiority give India the edge over all arms dealers,’ he noted, deeming it ideal for Malaysia’s defense needs.
UPI stands out as a beacon of innovation. ‘This system is pioneering, highly advanced, and poised for massive adoption,’ Kulasegaran enthused. It heralds a new era of efficient, untested business models ripe for international expansion.
