Arriving late Wednesday, the Crown Prince was received at the airport by Union Minister Chandrashekhar Pemmasani. The MEA’s online announcement celebrated his participation, positioning India and UAE as key players harnessing AI for mutual prosperity.
PM Modi formally opened the summit at Bharat Mandapam, captivating attendees including world leaders and AI specialists. He portrayed the event as a beacon of pride for the Global South, advocating for accountable AI practices in an era of swift innovation.
“This summit in India—a nation of 1/6th of humanity, brimming with youth and tech expertise—ushers in a new chapter,” Modi articulated. He warmly greeted international dignitaries and innovators, stressing India’s dual role in tech creation and swift assimilation.
An innovative touch was the AI-powered sign language interpretation visible during his speech, exemplifying the summit’s themes in action. As the first Global South-hosted mega AI forum, it convenes influential figures from governance, expertise, and decision-making realms.
