By India Today World Desk: Indian American Richard Verma has been confirmed for a high State Department place by the United States Senate on Thursday.
The US Senate confirmed former US ambassador to India Richard Verma as Deputy Secretary of State, Management and Resources, a place which is generally seen because the CEO of the highly effective State Department within the US Government, PTI reported.
The 54-year-old Verma was confirmed by the Senate by a vote of 67-26.
Verma has beforehand served because the US Ambassador to India from January 2015 to January 2017, and is presently the chief authorized officer and the top of world public coverage at Mastercard.
Richard Verma additionally served as Assistant Secretary of State for Legislative Affairs through the Obama administration.
