The Indian Embassy in Iran is gradually ending its evacuation operations, which were launched following the intensification of the conflict in the region, with a ceasefire between Israel and Iran now in effect. The embassy stated that the contact desk for registering new evacuees is closed. The government will continue to monitor the safety of Indian nationals. Indians who are currently in other parts of Iran, and were planning to go to Mashhad for evacuation, should remain where they are and stay updated on the latest news and embassy advice. Those who recently arrived in Mashhad and are staying in embassy-arranged hotels must move to the Sadr Hotel by Wednesday. The embassy will keep rooms at the Sadr hotel until June 26 to provide ample time for citizens to confirm that the security situation has returned to normal. The ceasefire was announced on Tuesday, following increasing military actions. Trump has disapproved of the actions of both countries, who were ‘violating the ceasefire’. Shortly after, the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office noted Israel has ‘refrained’ from additional attacks. A flight carrying 282 Indian citizens has landed safely in New Delhi, bringing the total number of evacuees under Operation Sindhu to 2,858.
