The Canadian government has published a report that addresses the funding of terrorist organizations, particularly Khalistani groups. The report, released by the Canadian Department of Finance, identifies that these groups are receiving funding originating from within Canada for politically motivated violent activities.
The report, entitled ‘Assessment of the Risks of Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing in Canada 2025,’ specifically mentions groups such as Hamas, Hezbollah, Babbar Khalsa International, and the International Sikh Youth Federation as recipients of funding from Canada. The report also notes that Khalistani extremist groups are employing violent tactics with the goal of establishing an independent state in Punjab, India.
