The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Esmaeil Baqaei, asserted that the recent military action against the US base Al-Udeid was an act of self-defense, justified under Article 51 of the UN Charter, in reaction to US airstrikes on June 22nd. Baqaei clarified that Qatar was not the target of the strike, as Iran shares excellent relations with the country. Former US President Donald Trump, on Truth Social, acknowledged Iran’s response and reported that American forces had effectively neutralized most of the Iranian missiles, resulting in limited damage and no American injuries.
