Islamic State claims knife assault in capital of Russia’s southern Chechnya

Islamic State has claimed accountability for a knife assault on police on Monday within the capital of Russia’s southern Chechnya area, Al-Naba newspaper affiliated with the group stated on Friday.
It made the declare with out offering any proof.
Two assailants killed one policeman and injured one other on Monday in Grozny, Chechen chief Ramzan Kadyrov stated. The poor and primarily Muslim area has seen earlier assaults on safety officers and an insurgency since Moscow fought two wars with separatists after the 1991 Soviet Union breakup.

Kadyrov stated the attackers have been brothers from the neighbouring area of Ingushetia who labored at a bakery in Chechnya. They have been shot lifeless whereas attempting to grab weapons, he stated.
