Bangladesh has officially condemned the ‘heinous criminal act’ of mob lynching that resulted in the death of Dipu Chandra Das in Mymensingh. Das, a member of the Hindu community, was brutally killed and his body burned after being accused of blasphemy. C R Abrar, an Education Adviser, visited the bereaved family, offering condolences and promising that the government will not tolerate such lawlessness. He emphasized that allegations cannot justify mob violence and that the state is committed to upholding justice through due legal channels. The investigation is active, with twelve individuals already in custody. The disturbing events have led to widespread demonstrations in India, highlighting calls for enhanced minority security in Bangladesh.
