By India Today Web Desk: Russia, on Tuesday, stated that it might convey Ukraine’s ‘soiled bomb’ warning to the United Nations Security Council, in response to Reuters.
Russia had accused Ukraine of plotting to make use of a bomb laced with radioactive materials within the Russia-occupied city of Kherson, a declare that was rejected by Kyiv.
Russia on late Monday despatched a letter about its claims about Kyiv to the United Nations. Russian diplomats stated that Moscow would talk about the matter with the UN Security Council on Tuesday.
In the letter, Russia’s UN Ambassador Vassily Nebenzia advised UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, “We will regard using the soiled bomb by the Kyiv regime as an act of nuclear terrorism.”
With Ukrainian forces advancing into Russian-occupied Kherson province, top Russian officials had phoned their Western counterparts on Sunday and Monday to air their suspicions.
Meanwhile, Russia has ordered civilians to evacuate territory it controls on the western bank of the Dnipro River, where Ukrainian forces have been advancing this month shortly after Russia claimed to have annexed the area.
Ukraine’s military said that the Russian-installed authorities in Kherson were evacuating banks, administrative facilities, and emergency service and medical personnel, while funding for schools and school meals had been stopped.
Equipment used by internet service providers had been stolen and robberies of residents and looting had increased, it said.
Russia had fired missiles and drones into the Ukrainian-held southern town of Mykolaiv, destroying an apartment block, 35 km away from Kherson on Sunday. The focus of the war has now shifted to Kherson as Russia ordered 60,000 people to flee the region “to save lots of your lives” within the face of a lightning Ukrainian counter offensive.
