In the latest update from the ongoing conflict, Russia has claimed to have taken control of two settlements within the Donetsk region of Ukraine. The Russian Defence Ministry stated that Seredne and Kleban Byk villages were captured following operations conducted by its Southern and Western groups of forces. The ministry also reported attacks against Ukrainian military-industrial facilities and locations where troops and foreign fighters were deployed, targeting 143 sites. Russian air defenses allegedly intercepted Ukrainian air attacks, intercepting four guided aerial bombs and 160 drones. This military activity is happening concurrently with attempts by the United States to facilitate peace negotiations between Russia and Ukraine. President Zelenskyy has expressed his willingness to engage in talks with President Putin, as the international community continues to seek a resolution to the conflict.
