President Emmanuel Macron of France is gearing up for a pivotal three-day visit to India, arriving on February 17 at PM Narendra Modi’s invitation. This follows Modi’s France trip and highlights the robust strategic alliance between the two democracies.
A key highlight is Macron’s attendance at the India-AI Impact Summit 2026, the inaugural AI conclave in the Global South, held at Bharat Mandapam from February 16-20. Global policymakers, industry leaders, and innovators will converge to harness AI for better governance, cutting-edge innovation, and equitable growth.
Inaugurated by PM Modi, the summit spotlights AI as a cornerstone of India’s transformative journey. It strengthens governance, optimizes public services, and supports mass-scale inclusive development en route to a Viksit Bharat by 2047. India’s diverse linguistic landscape uniquely enables the creation of adaptive, multilingual AI solutions.
The leaders’ agenda includes advancing cooperation under the Horizon 2047 framework across vital domains. Conversations will tackle pressing regional and international matters, notably in the Indo-Pacific. In Mumbai, they will unveil the India-France Year of Innovation, a dynamic program slated for 2026 to fuel joint technological ventures.
This engagement reflects profound mutual confidence and a shared resolve to deepen India-France strategic ties, paving the way for collaborative leadership in the AI era.
