On Sunday, a violent act unfolded in Grand Blanc, Michigan, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. A 40-year-old man drove his vehicle into the church, opened fire on the congregants, and then set the building ablaze. The incident resulted in at least four fatalities and left a number of people injured. The assailant, a resident of Burton, Michigan, used an assault rifle. During the attack, two officers engaged the suspect in a shootout, resulting in the death of the gunman. Police believe the suspect acted alone. At least eight people were wounded in the shooting, including some who are in critical condition.
