Militants linked to IS kill 25 folks in assault on Uganda faculty

By Reuters: Militants linked to Islamic State killed 25 folks in a terrorist assault on a faculty in western Uganda close to the border with the Democratic Republic of Congo, Ugandan police stated on Saturday.

Members of the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF), a Ugandan group based mostly in jap Congo that has pledged allegiance to Islamic State, attacked Lhubirira secondary faculty in Mpondwe, burning a dormitory and looting meals late on Friday, police stated.

“So far, 25 bodies have been recovered from the school and transferred to Bwera Hospital. Also recovered are eight victims, who remain in critical condition at Bwera Hospital,” Ugandan police stated on Twitter.

Police didn’t say how lots of the lifeless have been faculty kids.

Soldiers have been pursuing the attackers who fled in direction of Virunga National Park within the Democratic Republic of Congo, police added.

In April, the ADF attacked a village within the jap Democratic Republic of Congo, killing not less than 20 folks.

Uganda has despatched troops into Congo to assist battle the ADF.
